Djibouti is a small country located in the Horn of Africa. Djibouti occupies a total area of 23,200 km2 and population of 956,985 in 2017. Djibouti is strategically located near some of the world's busiest shipping lanes, controlling access to the Red Sea and Indian Ocean. More than 70% of the population lives in urban areas, with nearly 60% in the capital, Djibouti City. French, Arabic and Somali are the official languages.
