The Togolese Republic is located in West Africa in the Gulf of Guinea, sharing its borders with Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. It is bordered to the south by the Atlantic Ocean. The country covers an area of 56,785 km2 and is divided into five administrative regions. Its estimated population in 2017 was 78 lakhs.
